Mr. PranavPrasun, a student of Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Noida has received the first prize in theCouncil for Leather Exports (CLE) Design Award 2013 for the Best Shoe Design- Men's Casuals under Student category.

It was during the inauguration of Leather Research Industry Get-Together (LERIG)2013 at 4.00 P.M. on 28th January, 2013 at Triple Helix Hall, Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI) Campus, Adyar, Chennai that Mr. Prasun, received the awarded for his entry.

Mr. PranavPrasun, a studentof DFT 10 (Design Specialization) of FDDI, Noida designed a casual/semi-casual men’s derby shoe that gives the complete feel of vintage footwear where there has been a new unique try to give an antique look to a foiled leather.

The Design Award was instituted by CLE during January 1997, which is for increasing 'Fashion & Design' awareness in the country and help Indian leather and leather products find a place of prominence in the global fashion world of leather.
“The competition, works to promote design capabilities within the country to create a contemporary image for Indian leather products in markets abroad & we are proud of Mr. Pranavfor bringing FDDI's name in the international arena of Footwear Design,” added Mr. Lakhara.

“The Executive Director of CLE, in his communication has informed that this design will also be sent to International Footwear Design Competition for further selection of the ‘Best Design’ as per the rules and regulations of International Footwear Design Competition,” further added Mr. Lakhara.
