IILF was organized by India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), with main supporting organizations Council for Leather Exports (CLE), Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) - Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI), Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), Indian Shoe Federation (ISF), Indian Finished Leather Manufacturers and Exporters Association (IFLMEA), Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers Association (IFCOMA) and Association of Footwear Components and Machinery Manufacturers of India (AFCAMMI).

 

The theme of the 32nd IILF was “Enabling Leather”, featuring a greener leather sector.

The 32nd IILF was an ideal forum for presenting multi-facetted splendor of the Indian leather industry.

 

At the opening ceremony, distribution of the CLE Export Excellence Awards 2015-16 was presented for best export performance in different product categories under various export turnover slabs.

 

With an annual turnover of $12 billion, the export of Indian leather and leather products increased manifold over the past decades and touched US$5.85 billion in 2015-16, recording a Cumulative Annual Growth Rate of about 4.69 per cent growth (5 years).

 

The 32nd IILF was an ideal forum for presenting multi-facetted splendor of the Indian leather industry.

 

The business visitors were attracted to exhibits displayed by more than 400 companies, including over 100 from more than 20 foreign countries. The display profile included a wide range of products such as leather garments, footwear and its components, synthetic material, fashion accessories, raw and finished leather, chemicals, machinery, equipment and technologies.

 

The students of FDDI displayed a wide range of creations at its stall no. 11 located at the Convention Centre that included ladies and gents shoes, casual and formal footwear and sports shoes, fashion accessories, leather goods - travelware, belts, portfolios, handbags and wallets.

 

FDDI, Swati Modo, The Leather Warehouse and ITPO in association with AVT, Red Chief and Khadims organized the second ‘Footwear Fashion Show’ during which Mrs. Revathi Roy, Chairperson, FDDI was the Guest of Honour.

 

FDDI students and alumni worked diligently and showcased products by budding designers inspired by the ‘Arts of the World’ which was cherished by everyone and made this event a grand success.

 

The services of the FDDI’s ITC for supporting the footwear and leather industry, through a host of testing solutions and services with minimum possible time was also provided to the perspective visitors.

 

Information about the academic programmes of the FDDI was also provided to the students.
