FDDI Chhindwara student won ‘Best Fashion Designer India’ award in a national level designer showcase event which was organized by TVAM team and supported by Maha Metro, Nagpur under the ‘Celebration on Wheel’ project on 18th December 2022.
It was conducted inside the running metro train during which 101 people including kids (5-12 years) walked together inside the running train.
For the competition, budding fashion designers and students, were given the theme ‘Blend of Heritage & Culture’ to make costumes and showcase the same.
Ms. Teena Khandait, a student of B.Des Fashion Design, Semester-V from FDDI Chhindwara campus participated in the event whose creation was presented by Poonam Bobde, a student of Semester-III from FDDI Chhindwara. The costume designed by Ms. Teena Khandiat based on given theme begged the ‘Best Fashion Designer India 2022’ award in the ‘Professional Designer’ category.
The event showcased many nationally renowned fashion designers like, Md. Danish Akhtar, Kolkata and Arti Nehra who presented their cultural costumes. ‘Kutir’ a brand from Khadi Amravati, Bhavna Lohia (urban thread), Shraddha Meshram and Priyanka Bondnase (a la mode) had their special sequences. Manaswini Foundation, NGO also had their cultural walk.
Mr. Nityanand Tiwari- MD Twam events was the curator, Ms. Megha Kapoor was the styling coordinator and Mr. Abhishek Jaiswal did the choreography for the event. Ms. Vinita Bhatia, Ms. Nidhi Gandhi, Ms. Hetal gaglani and Ms. Sheetal Kandwal were the Jury members for the event.
