Educational tour at ‘Indian Craft Week 2022’ for FDDI, Noida students

Under the educational tour, on 20th October 2022, the students of the Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Noida campus visited the ‘Indian Craft Week 2022’ (ICW-2022) held at NSIC Ground, Okhla, New Delhi.

Under the supervision and guidance of faculty of School of Fashion Design (SFD), students got an in-depth knowledge about various types of crafts across India and also got a vision to craft documentation and product diversification. They also got a closer understanding of some of the heritage traditional fabrics like Kinkhab, Ghatchola, Bhandhej, Dabu, Shibori, Sandalwood Carving, Zardozi, Thewa Art, Kalamkari, Ajrak Printing.

The students also had an opportunity to interact with the craftsman and experience the process of their crafts. The experience at craft week brings live demonstrations, folk performances, master classes, craft galleries, art and craft instalments. The craftsman and luxury brands brings world class handmade products with a sustainable approach.

The visit enabled a closer interaction of students with the heritage and intricate arts and crafts of India.
