FDDI, Kolkata student gets Consolation prize in National Logo & Backdrop contest held (online) on ‘Moitree Dibosh’

Mr. Ashish Raj, a student of Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Kolkata was awarded with Consolation prize for the ‘Logo & Backdrop’ contest which was jointly organized by India and HCI, Dhaka (High Commission of India Bangladesh) to commemorate 6th December as ‘Moitree Dibosh’.

On 6th December 1971, India had formally recognized an independent Bangladesh, borne out of the nine-month-long struggle of the Bangalee people for liberation from oppression, for a life of freedom. To cherish this landmark day in history, the Governments of India and Bangladesh decided to celebrate the day as 'Moitree Dibosh'.

The day was designated by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi as Bangladesh- India Friendship Day (Moitree Dibosh) in March 2021.

The logo and backdrop made and submitted online by Mr. Ashish Raj represented the spirit of the Bangladesh Liberation War, the ideology and vision of the Bangladeshi struggle, and the spirit of fraternity and solidarity extended to this struggle by the people of India.

His Excellency, Mr. Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Foreign Secretary of India and His Excellency, Mr. Muhammad Imran, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to India handed over the prize and certificate to Mr. Ashish Raj, a student of FDDI School of Fashion Design (FSFD) of Batch - 2019, Semester-6, and to the other winners of the ‘Moitree Dibosh’ Logo and Backdrop contest which were held online in the month of November 2021.

The winners were felicitated during an event which was held at 11.00 A.M. on 25th April 2022 at the Bangladesh High Commission, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.
