FDDI, Hyderabad student amongst top 2 finalists in Garrixon Studio’s- ‘Atmos Color-Up Sneaker Design Contest Entry’


Ms. Sameeksha Ambolikar, a student of Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Hyderabad campus participated and got selected for finalist in Garrixon Studio- ‘Atmos Color-Up Sneaker Design Contest Entry’ 2020.

Ms. Sameeksha Ambolikar, a student of Footwear Design and Production (B. Des) of FDDI, Hyderabad campus is amongst top 2 finalists of the contest.

This contest was launched and organized by Garrixon, and Atmos, a footwear incubator based in Philadelphia. Garrixon teams up with Japanese sneaker empire Atmos to launch their second design contest on August 2020. The contest submission was scheduled between 03rd August to 24th August, 2020.

She submitted the scanned image of creative expressions, i.e. Sneaker design- Leoquest. Her theme ‘Leoquest’ relies up on animal leopard. A leopard is a fearless and powerful spirited animal with strength and dignity. Her tagline for this sneaker design is “Get a boost on your feet! With Leoquest”.

The contest was judged by Hommyo Hidefumi, Founder of Atmos, and Hirofumi_kojima, Creative Director of Atmos who pick the top 16 designs. Those 16 designs went head-to-head daily through voting on the Garrixon Instagram story after which the sneaker design- Leoquest of Ms. Sameeksha Ambolikar got selected amongst the top 2 finalists.

Design students and young designers from in excess of 20 nations, from various part of the globe, participated in this design contest. The result of this contest was declared on 30th September 2020.

Ms. Sameeksha Ambolikar had a chance to see her design in a real proto, made by the Garrixon design studio. She also had the opportunity to express her ideas with international designers during real proto/pre-sales sample preparation.
