Webinar on ‘Talk Show on Textile Industry’ held at FDDI, Chhindwara campus
A webinar on ‘Talk Show on Textile Industry’ was held at Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Chhindwara campus on 9th August 2020.
It was organized by School of Fashion Design of FDDI, Chhindwara campus that dealt about the contemporary issues in Textile industry in current situation.
The resource persons for the webinar were Mr. Ashish Agrawal, Mr. Pramod Adhikari & Mr. Amit Sureka.
Mr. Ashish Agrawal is a post-graduate from NIFT-Delhi, with an experience and expertise of 19 years. He is running his own buying house representing many Brands Like, Zara, Walmart, Tommy Heilfigure and many more.
Mr. Pramod Adhikari is a NIFT-Delhi graduate and a fashion retail professional with 20+ years of industry experience and specialization in product development, merchandising, sourcing and supply chain management.
Mr. Amit Sureka presently working with SGS Lab as Regional Manager-North is having an experience of more than 24 years. Mr. Sureka is Textile graduate with specialization in textile chemistry having industry experience with specialization in Textile chemistry, International Business Management, PPC. He has worked with Bureau Veritas.
All the resource persons briefed about the current scenario of COVID-19 and the changes that has been initiated in the Textile and Apparel sector in India. They opined that the industry is going through structural changes but, new opportunities lies with the problem and current situation.
They concluded that currently there has been rise in the demand for more responsible and lesser carbon footprint products from fashion industry, and this will start a new wave at the demand of newer products and design changes with new materials.
Apart from the discussions held, the webinar also featured various topics like how to plan and concentrate on various career prospects available in the fashion industry, what are the do’s and don’ts for an student going through portfolio planning, internship, graduation project and the final design collection etc.
