Footwear Design & Development Institute was established by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
FDDI Patna Campus located next to Indian Institute of Technology, Patna at Bihta 30 minutes drive from Patna. FDDI Patna has a full fledge 10 acres – 2 lakhs square feet build up area. The campus is surrounded by different government and private colleges to give an atmosphere of education by leaving behind the cities of Bihar. The campus has world class facilities like air-conditioned classrooms, technical workshops equipped with modern state-of-art machineries. It has conference halls, seminar halls, auditorium, open-air theatre, computer labs, and the library along with fully furnished separate Girls & Boys Hostel, which makes the campus the most modern and world class institute in its own area.
The classrooms are made not only to just create an atmosphere that is conducive to learning but, in a sense to nurture the quest for knowledge that the students possess. All classrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with all modern teaching aids. The campus also extends the facility of virtual class rooms and video conferencing.

Our students have easy access to cutting – edge IT facilities with over 90 computers which means there is always a computer available when students need to do coursework or assignments. All computers are provided with the essential applications as well as high-speed Internet. It is fully air-conditioned, well maintained lab. It is of notable importance to the students as they can access innumerable informative and educational sites from within the premises. The campus is wireless and offering all-round Wi-Fi Internet access to students and faculty round the clock.
The objective of a college library is to supplement the instructions imparted in the classroom. It aims to function as an independent teaching agency, encouraging and promoting the use of books in the ways beyond those suggested or required by the classroom.The college library functions basically to assist and support the study and teaching in the respective college. It helps to meet the reading requirements of the students as well as the teachers of the college.

Patna campus has a cutting and closing lab. In these labs footwear leather is shaped in machine. These labs provide hands-on practice on different type of machines which shapes the leather. In cutting lab machines cuts leather in different shapes and then footwear is designed. In closing lab cutting leather is designed like it’s sole and etc.
For learning to be effective it needs to be delivered in a congenial environment that not just nurtures but stimulates the interest of the best minds that receive it. FDDI Patna campus offers world-class infrastructure that supports the pursuit of knowledge and the exercise of individual interests. Patna campus has 19 classrooms (capacity of 40 each) technically equipped with projector and smart boards with a total capacity of 760 students. The classrooms have all modern teaching aids.
Patna campus has 12 workshops of different departments like designing, cutting, closing, lasting, finishing, component, sample department, VM Lab. These workshops are equipped with machines to enhance students abilities.
Hostel is another home for the students. The institute provides spacious rooms. Five new well-furnished and aesthetically designed hostels have been constructed with a view to provide best possible facilities to the students. The hostel rooms are Wi-fi enabled.
Well laid play-fields and facilities for indoor & outdoor sports include Badminton, Cricket, Football, and a number of other activities. The Institute supports the Students Sport Club and is achieving considerable success in the expansion of intramural and recreation programmes.
A 300 seating capacity State-of-the-Art Auditorium at the FDDI with enterprise quality acoustic back up to host college events and programmes. The professional lighting management system and the audio visual experience can compete with the best and other associated arrangements are truly world class.
One of the architectural delights of the college is its beautifully designed amphitheater. With a capacity of 200, this venue is used for entertainment, performances and different kinds of interactive programs open stage plays etc.
