FDDI, India & SATRA, UK organizes seminar on “Meeting the Challenges in Producing Sustainable Leather and Footwear”

Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) in association with Shoe and Allied Trade Research Association (SATRA), United Kingdom (UK) organized a sem¬inar on “Meeting the Challenges in Producing Sustainable Leather and Footwear” on 6th February 2020.

For the seminar, FDDI had invited eminent speakers which included Ms. Christine Powley-Williams, Assistant Director – Commercial, SATRA and Mr. Mike Winters, Regional Business Manager, SATRA.

The students of B. Des., B.Sc. (FDsP), M. Des. (FDP) consisting of Leather Fashion Footwear and Footwear Retailing & E-commerce, M.Des. (CAD) and Bridge Programme (FDP) attended the seminar held at FDDI, NOIDA campus.

Sharing their experience and views on the topic, the experts said that in meeting the challenges in producing sustainable leather and footwear, the need of the hour is to use the resources to meet the current needs without affecting the capability to meet future generation’s needs. This requires synchronized accomplishment of environmental, social, and economic sustainability even at the firm level.
