Hindi workshop on ‘Official Language Management, Problems and Solutions’ held at FDDI

With the objective to encourage officials/employees to perform their official work in Hindi, a workshop on ‘Official Language Policy’ was held at the FDDI, Noida campus on 28th December, 2022.

Dr. Ved Prakash Gaud was the key speaker of the workshop who acquainted the staff on ‘Official Language Management, Problems and Solutions’.

Dr. Ved Prakash Gaud, after holding the post of Director in the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, retired on July 31, 2020. He served in the Department of Defence, ESIC, Ministry of Labour, Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, CPWD, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science and Technology and rendered services related to Official Language.

He briefed that to ensure compliance of the constitutional and legal provisions pertaining to the Language of Republic of India and to promote the use of our Official Language-Hindi for the purposes of the Union, the Department of Official Language was set up in June, 1975 as an Independent Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

He elaborated about the importance of using Hindi as an official language and briefed how using simple words in Hindi can be useful during communicating officially as well.

On this occasion, the teaching faculty as well the other staff from HR Department, Admissions and Placement Department, Information Technology Services Center (ITSC), Stores, Accounts, Maintenance etc. were present.

He also discussed about the salient features of language policy, circulars, office memoranda, official order, terminology and practical grammar problems along with their solutions.

All the employees from rest of the 11 campuses of FDDI were connected virtually from the virtual classroom facilities at their respective campuses.

The participants were delighted as the workshop provided valuable information to do the official work in Hindi as well as it gave them an insight into certain interesting facts with regard to Hindi language.
