Webinar on ‘Think Positive’ held at FDDI, Chennai campus
On 18th August 2020, a webinar on ‘Think Positive was held at Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) Chennai campus.
The webinar was organized by School of Footwear Design and Production that focused in motivating the youngsters in this unpredicted COVID-19 lockdown happenings across countries, and to face the challenges to be faced at industries in upgrading them to the latest technological advances.
The resource person for the webinar was Mr. Thameem Ahamed, General Manager, NMZ Group, Ambur, Tamil Nadu holding the responsibilities as Vice President - Chennai Institute of Leather Technologist Association, Executive Committee Member for South India Shoe Manufacturers.
Mr. Thameem, a leather technician whose levels of expertise range from novice to expert, now the General Manager of organization, shared the experience he gained with the organization.
He explained about the guide lines and safety measures in Leather and Footwear Industries to be followed in this unpredicted lockdown happenings due to pandemic.
He explained about the usage of GORE-TEX waterproof textile material found in high-performance walking/hiking boots that stops rain from getting in, but let’s perspiration out. He also explained about the Effluent Treatment Plant operation, the removal of high amount of organic compounds from industry effluent.
The session which was an eye-opener for all participants, was attended by more than 90 participants which included students from various campuses, college professors, the staff members and faculties.
