International Women's Day celebrated at FDDI campuses

International Women's Day (IWD) was celebrated at all the campuses of Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) on 08th March 2023 with great zeal and enthusiasm.

As a part of the celebration, informative sessions were organized at FDDI, Noida campus during which all the female employees from rest of the 11 campuses of FDDI were connected virtually from the virtual classroom facilities at their respective campuses.

Wg. Cdr. Asha Vashist was commissioned in the Administration branch of the Indian Air Force on 20th June 1998. In her career spanning 24 years, for her distinguished service she has been commended once by the Chief of the Air Staff and twice by the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief. She was also nominated for award for Women’s contribution to State of Gujarat on International Women’s Day 2018. She has also been felicitated by Governor of Telangana, Her Excellency, Honourable Tamilisai Soundarajan in March 2021 on Women’s’ day.

Aligning with this year’s theme of IWD, i.e. ‘Embrace Equity’, Wg. Cdr. Asha Vashist, during the session on ‘Gender Equality & Work life Balance’, explained about the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women in the country.

During the session on ‘Importance of Financial Planning for Women’, Ms. Rajni Rawal from Kotak briefed about the need of doing proper financial planning wherein women can divide their earnings into expenses and savings to ensure their financial security in their old age.

Women power has the biggest contribution in fulfilling the dream of a self-reliant India, which the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India has dreamed of.

A ‘Essay Writing Competition’ was held on 01st March 2023 and ‘Quiz for Women’ employees was held on 06th March 2023, during which the female employees participated enthusiastically.

The employees were also told about the empowering women at the work place which means that women can have more control over their lives. This means giving them the freedom to make their own programms, gain new skills and gain autonomy.
