On 10th October 2024, a group of 35 students from the B.Des and M.Des Footwear Design and Production (FDP) programs at the FDDI, Chennai visited Sri Sakthi Leather Enterprises located at Chromepet, Chengalpattu District, Tamil Nadu.
Sri Sakthi Leather Enterprise, a renowned manufacturer produces wide variety of shoes for prestigious global brands like Gabor and Mephisto.
Accompanied by their faculty, the students were offered hands-on opportunity to witness the intricacies of leather footwear manufacturing process.
The technical expert of the company namely Mr. Manoj and Mr. Rathana Kumar explained the students about various automated machineries and equipment used in in footwear production. They also got exposure of different type of materials used in manufacturing of shoes and their manufacturing process.
