With the objective to provide students with insights into the opportunities available for fashion designers abroad, as well as to provide guidance on effective portfolio development, an online interactive session with industry stalwart, Mr. Subhasish Gupta was held on 23rd October 2024.
Mr. Gupta who is having 24 years of experience in the apparel and fashion industry and is presently the Country Director - VP at Bettex (Hong Kong) Limited, a global company, shared his extensive knowledge and expertise with the students of the School of Fashion Design (FD).
Mr. Gupta briefed the students of FD 21 and FD 22 batch about the growing demand for skilled fashion designers in international markets, highlighting specific regions where talent is particularly sought after, the diverse roles of fashion designers and the need for cultural adaptability.
Besides this, he highlighted the need and importance of a strong portfolio, the elements of a great portfolio and the significance of maintaining a strong online presence through platforms like LinkedIn and personal websites to navigate their careers in the global fashion market.
