‘INI Day’ celebrated at FDDI, Hyderabad campus


On 5th August 2023, FDDI celebrated ‘INI Day’ at its Hyderabad campus.

As FDDI was declared “Institute of National Importance” vide Government of India gazette Notification No. 30, Ministry of Law & Justice (Legislative Department), New Delhi dated 5th August 2017, this date, i.e. 5th August has been considered for celebrating ‘INI Day (Enactment)’ of FDDI.

The event was attended by directors of eminent institutions like Dr. P. J. Narayanan - IIIT, Dr. Malani Divakala – NIFT, Mr. K. Murli – CFTI and industry experts including stalwarts Mr. Rajan Kumar Jha, VP-Bata, and Niren Anand, MD-Ever Trade Shoes, officials & staff of FDDI across all campuses and a large number of alumni.

Delivering the ‘Welcome Address’, Dr. Narsimhugari Tej Lohit Reddy, IAS Executive Director-FDDI, Hyderabad campus said, “It is with great pleasure and humility to welcome all of you present here and those connected online, on the ‘INI Day’ of FDDI, which has grown from a small institution with big dreams into a formidable force in the fields of footwear, design, fashion and retail.”

On this occassion, FDDI's annual fashion magazine ‘Felicitas’, was launched in the esteemed presence of the dignitaries.

In his ‘Presidential Address’, Colonel Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Secretary, FDDI, reaffirmed the institute's dedication to driving innovation and excellence in the design, retail, and leather goods domain.

The occasion that marked the launch of ‘Saili’, the campus new store and its website saili.co.in, highlighted the institute's commitment to integrating digital advancements with academic and professional excellence.

Honoring India's ancient draping techniques and handloom crafts, fashion show 'Alankaran' - an eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional designs from the fashion industry was on display by the students who had up the show to mark the ‘INI Day’ celebrations.

Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to witness a captivating exhibition showcasing the creative prowess of FDDI's students in footwear, fashion, product design, and retail management.
