Workshop for NIFT, Hyderabad students conducted by FDDI, Hyderabad


On 24th September 2024, the School of Footwear Design & Production (FDP) at FDDI Hyderabad campus hosted a workshop on ‘Footwear Fundamentals and Future Trends’ for Master of Fashion Management (MFM) students of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Hyderabad.

The workshop was coordinated by Mr. Harish Kumar, Faculty at FDP, FDDI Hyderabad and aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of footwear design and production, led by experienced faculty members.

The informative sessions covered essential topics, including footwear terminology, classifications, and advanced 3D footwear design, presented by Mr. Abdul Rahuman M, Senior Faculty at FDP. Mr. Loganathan, Faculty at FDP, provided an analysis of the global footwear market and key marketing strategies employed by leading players.

The workshop further explored key production techniques. Mr. Naresh Kumar, Faculty at FDP, guided participants through the use of upper materials in footwear production, complemented by a live demonstration of clicking and closing technology. Additionally, Mr. Elayaraja, Senior Faculty at FDP, highlighted the importance of bottom materials in footwear production, offering insights into the lasting process and demonstrating the development of new sole technologies.

This hands-on workshop which provided an opportunity for attendees to learn by doing with the help of practical demonstrations, delivered deeper understanding of both traditional and modern aspects of footwear production.
