A webinar on ‘Scope of Design in Retail Sector’ was held at Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Chhindwara campus on 20th September 2020.
It was organized by School of Fashion Design of FDDI, Chhindwara campus that dealt about the scope of retail design, which is a combination of overall look & insight into functionality of retail space and an intrinsic part of retail store functioning.
The guest speaker of the event, Mr. Harsh Gupta shared his expert opinion on the creative and technical skills required in the retail sector.
Mr. Harsh Gupta is an engineer and alumni of NIFT Kolkata who is having 18 years’ experience in Fashion Retail sector and currently Head of Sourcing- Unlimited Format, Arvind Fashions Ltd. Bangalore.
He provided insight on various aspects of the apparel retail sector and different challenges and issues that the sector is facing during this current pandemic. He enumerated on the responsibilities of product developer and designers during these demanding times.
He addressed the idea of how to develop a portfolio of a designer who wishes to join the apparel retail sector.
There was an interactive session which provided an opportunity to the students to clarify their doubts regarding the scope of design in retail operations in the present situation.
The workshop was attended by students from FDDI from various department and campuses and other institutes along with many academic team member. The event was watched by many on Facebook Live on ‘FDDI Chhindwara’ Facebook page.
