Industrial visit for FDDI, Hyderabad students at Footwear & Allied Factories of Tamil Nadu

An industrial visit for the students of FDDI Hyderabad campus was organized at Footwear & Allied Factories of Tamil Nadu from 12th to 14th October, 2023.

The students of School of Footwear Design and Production (FDP) of B. Des FDP 2022-26 batch who were accompanied by their faculty visited the companies with an objective to provide an opportunity to the students to learn about the latest technology trend and to acquire knowledge about the working process of a factory so that they can better understand the intricacies involved when they apply the theoretical concepts learned.


On the 12th October 2023 at Sanghavi Shoe Accessories Pvt. Ltd., Chennai students delved into the intricacies of shoe last design and development wherein Mr. Afsar Syed, Dy. General provided insight on shoe last design and measurements, shoe-last design principles, future trends, innovations, and so on. Students saw the company's state-of-the-art facilities and got firsthand glimpse into the innovative processes that shape the footwear industry.

Post-lunch on the same day, the students explored Noor & Sons Tanners where they were familiarized with the leather processing, post-tanning processes, future shifts in leather manufacturing, and quality control in leather making.


On the same day, the students visited RK Shoes in Chromepet where Mr. Ranjith Kumar, Managing Director and Mr. Tamil, General Manager familiarized them on upper making of shoe production which deepened their understanding of the craftsmanship involved.

On 13th of October, 2023, the students visited Sanghavi Shoe Accessories Pvt. Ltd., Vellore where they had the unique opportunity to witness India's largest shoe-last manufacturing facility with a capacity of producing more than 1000 pairs of shoe-lasts.

Mr. Natarajan, Vice President of Sanghavi Shoe Accessories Pvt. Ltd., briefed the students about the company and elucidated technical details of shoe-last making, and more.
