In order to elevate its educational and research endeavors, FDDI has signed four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with renowned academic institutions and leading industry players.
Dr. Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, IAS - Managing Director (MD), FDDI signed the MoUs on behalf of FDDI with the prestigious academia namely, Galgotias University, Uttar Pradesh and Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai and with industry players namely, Allure Enterprises, New Delhi and Careself Services Pvt. Ltd (Fresh Feet), Uttar Pradesh.
These MoU were signed at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi on 09th October 2024 which saw attendance from notable figures in academia and industry, including Colonel Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Secretary - FDDI, Dr. Madhusudan Pal, Director, CoE - FDDI, Dr. Shashi Bala Singh, Advisor, Ms. Priyanka Sharma, Assistant Registrar, Galgotias University; Dr. L. Sujatha, Dean of Rajalakshmi Engineering College; Tushank Jain, Director of Allure Enterprises Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Sanchit Kundra, Founder, and Pulkit Nijhawan, Advisor of Careself Services Pvt. Ltd. (Fresh Feet).
Divulging the details, Dr. Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, IAS - MD, FDDI said, "The MoU highlights a shared commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure while promoting sustainable practices."
These MoUs represent actionable plans that will raise the standards of the Indian footwear and leather industries to meet global benchmarks, added Dr. Jarangal.
Further elaborating on the implementation of the MoUs, Dr. Madhusudan Pal, Director of the CoE, shared plans for campus visits, Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), and internship programs, particularly with Rajalakshmi Engineering College. He also stressed the critical role of protecting Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), developing prototypes, and commercializing new products, ensuring that the focus remains on both academic and industry-driven results.
These partnerships are expected to strengthen academic and industry collaboration while contributing to India's broader vision of elevating its global position in the footwear and leather sectors.
