FDDI, Ankleshwar participated in the 13th edition of ‘SHOETECH Mumbai 2024’ - Buyer-Sellers Meet cum Exhibition organized by Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers Association (IFCOMA) which was held on 18th & 19th December 2024 at Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by ‘Chief Guest’, Mr. Naresh Bhasin, Managing Director (MD), M/s. Ram Fashion Exports Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, Mr. Vikas Mahtani, Chairman (Western Region), Council for Leather Exports (CLE), Mr. Sanjay Gupta, President, IFCOMA, Mr. SK Verma, Executive Director, IFCOMA.
The occasion was graced by Ms. Prerna Deshbhratar, IAS, Managing Director, Leather Industries and Development Corporation of Maharashtra (LIDCOM), as the ‘Special Guest of Honour’ where as Ms. Manju Mann, Executive Director (ED), FDDI-Noida campus was the ‘Distinguished Guest of Honour’.
IFCOMA which is having a strength of over 500 members comprising of manufacturers of Sole, Insole, Lasts, Toe puff and Counter, linings, Interlinings, adhesives, Metallic fittings, Chemicals & Compounds, Clicking Dies, Eyelets, EVA Sheets & Compounds, Finishes & Polishes, Labels, Laces etc., has been instrumental in providing a fillip to the industry.
Delivering the ‘Keynote Address’, Ms. Manju Mann, ED, FDDI-Noida campus said, “The evolution of footwear design and manufacturing hinges on innovation and collaboration. Platforms like Shoetech provide the perfect stage for learning, networking, and showcasing talent. FDDI is committed to nurturing future leaders in this dynamic industry.”
With the strong support of all trade institutions, 65 exhibitors showcased an impressive array of products and services that included various footwear components, accessories & machinery which included specialized Soles (TPR/TPU/PU etc.) of the latest design, Plastic shoe lasts, Insoles, Toe-puff & Counters, Linings & Interlinings, Threads, Finishes & Chemicals, Packaging Boxes, Shoe Machinery etc.
Faculty members from FDDI, Ankleshwar campus namely, Mr. Rajesh Parashar, Senior Faculty Footwear Design and Production (FDP) and Mr. Abhishek K Saxena, Faculty - New Product Development took an active role in engaging with industry leaders and participants to explore and discuss the latest trends, technologies, and materials.
The event featured a prestigious awards ceremony, acknowledging outstanding contributions to the footwear industry.
