On 03rd January 2025, FDDI, Hyderabad campus marked the successful culmination of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) ‘Artisan Training Programme’ 2024-25 with a grand ‘Product Display’ event at its premise.
Under the KVIC - Gramodyog Vikas Yojana 2024-25, FDDI, Hyderabad campus in collaboration with the KVIC, Telangana State conducted meticulously designed ‘Skill Development Programmes’ for the artisans from 09th December 2024 to 2nd January 2025 which was aimed to empower individuals and promote traditional leather craftsmanship.

The faculty of the School of Footwear Design & Production (FDP), imparted training to the artisans on leather footwear which not only enhanced their technical skills, but, also bolstered their confidence, opening doors to new opportunities. It also contributed significantly to a more sustainable and self-reliant artisan community.
Product display event showcased an impressive collection of handcrafted leather footwear, created by artisans during their training. The products reflected a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, demonstrating the advanced skills imparted through the programme.
During the event, the artisans shared their transformative experiences with their trainers, programme organizers, Dr. Narasimhugari Tej Lohit Reddy, IAS, Executive Director (ED) – FDDI, Hyderabad campus, KVIC and Telangana State Leather Industries Promotion Corporation Ltd. (TSLIPC) officials.
