FDDI delegates visit 24th International Shoes & Leather Exhibition, Vietnam


Colonel Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Managing Director (MD) – FDDI visited the 24th International Shoes & Leather Exhibition (ISLE), Vietnam which was held at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City from 10th to 12th July 2024.

He was accompanied by Ms. Mamta, Director (L&F), DPIIT, MoC, GoI.

The other member of the delegation from FDDI were Mr. T.Loganathan, Faculty, School of Footwear Design & Production (FDP), Hyderabad campus.

Indian footwear, components and accessories manufacturers also participated in the ISLE, Vietnam under the Council for Leather Exports (CLE) India Pavilion.

The team could meet some good manufacturers & buyers and was able to observe the new products, materials, systems and technology in shoe design, leather goods, and production equipment from the fair which is one of the most important and leading events for the shoes and leather industry in the ASEAN regions.

For gaining market insights, and adopting advanced technologies and sustainable practices, the delegation also visited some companies located in Vietnam. MD-FDDI presented a brief introduction to FDDI during these visits.

Collaboration opportunities were explored with Thanh Khon Co Ltd., focusing on innovative product development and sustainable manufacturing techniques. This partnership aimed to leverage the strengths of both organizations to create advanced and eco-friendly footwear solutions.

Discussions with Harvest Glory Limited focused on eco-friendly upper leather development, while engagements with Universal Vietnam Shoes Production Trading Company Limited (UVSPTCL) and Golden Chang GCV3 emphasized quality standards, technological integration, and sustainability practices in footwear manufacturing.

The visit to TBS, Binh Thang, Di An, Binh Duong was aimed at fostering innovation and exploring potential partnerships to enhance product offerings and sustainability in footwear and handbag production.

The delegation also attended the interactive session – ‘Source From India (Footwear and Leather)’ at Mai House Saigon Hotel, Vietnam which provided numerous opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and business development.

Technical seminars were also held during which the international speakers presented their latest market technologies and fashion trends, which was invaluable for gaining insights and making important connections in the industry and was extremely helpful for the business planning and decision making.

The team's visit facilitated significant networking opportunities that could contribute to the growth and development of the footwear, leather, components and accessories manufacturers, and design industries.
