A day long institutional orientation programme for the IAS officers was conducted at FDDI, Head Office on 03rd July 2024.
As part of this program, five IAS officer visited the institute to gain a comprehensive understanding of FDDI’s operations, its wide range of activities and its significant contribution to the footwear, leather, fashion industry and the retail sector.
The officials namely, Mr. Sushant Padha - 2020 Batch of Agmut cadre, Mr. Rahul Anand - 2022 Batch of Uttarakhand cadre, Mr. Vishal Khatri - 2022 Batch of Maharashtra cadre and Mr. Parth Gupta & Mr. Gaurav Kumar of 2022 Batch of Bihar cadre participated in the programme.
At FDDI, DGM - SA & ED, provided an insightful overview of FDDI as an Institution of National Importance and whereas all four Heads of Schools (HoS) namely School of Footwear Design & Production (FDP), School of Fashion Design (FD), School of Leather Goods & Accessories Design (LGAD), and School of Retail and Fashion Merchandise (RFM) made knowledge-sharing presentations of their respective school. Director CoE- FDDI briefed them about the ‘Centre of Excellence’ (CoEs) which have been created in seven different thematic areas and research projects.
They visited the International Testing Center (ITC) of FDDI having Physical & Chemical Laboratory and saw various testing-cum-quality control services being provided by it. They also visited the campus of the institute including the state-of-art facilities and infrastructure as established at FDP, FD, LGAD & RFM.
