Mr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Senior Faculty (SF), School of Fashion Design (FD) of FDDI, Noida campus was felicitated during National Level Exhibition - ‘Mere Desh ke Dhaage’ which was held at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University.
On the occasion of Independence Day, the exhibition was organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts, JMI in association with Textile Cartography from 14th to 23rd August, 2024 in M F Hussain Gallery, JMI, New Delhi.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. Mohammad Shakeel, Offg. Vice Chancellor, JMI in the esteemed presence of Mr. M. Nasim Haider, Registrar, JMI.
Mr. Rajesh was appreciated and awarded for his creative and artistic potential in weaving craft.
Approximately 121 artists from different Universities/Institutes/Colleges of India participated in the exhibition, to embrace textile in their artistic and aesthetical endeavours.
The exhibition served as a remarkable showcase of young weavers' intrinsic skills and creativity, reflecting their deep connection to India's rich cultural heritage who have embraced traditional textile techniques while infusing them with a contemporary flair, and creating transformative art pieces.
