On 19th September 2024, the students of B. Des-2022-26 batch of FDDI School of Footwear Design and Production, Noida campus visited M/s. Santosh Pargal & Co., a tannery located at Murthal, Sonipat, Haryana, India.
The objective of the visit was to familiarize the students with the leather processing & finishing methodology and to acquaint them with tools & various kinds of leather deemed fit for use by the industry.
The students saw the various processes of the tannery right from raw to finishing where they were explained about the technicalities of different processes by Mr. Sanjay Pargal Managing Director and the experts of the various departments of the tannery.
The students were also briefed about the process of manufacturing of wet blue leather to finished leather.
The visit was highly beneficial for the students as they witnessed the tanning process where different type of leather finishing, variety of chemicals, machineries & techniques are used to make leather which is presented as a product for the global market.
