FDDI, Hyderabad students visit Salar Jung Museum and Birla Science Museum

With the objective to provide a solid foundation and to update their knowledge on design, craft heritage, science and technology, the students of B.Des-Foundation Batch of FDDI, Hyderabad campus were taken to ‘Salar Jung Museum’ and ‘Birla Science Museum’ on 6th December 2022.

The Famous ‘City of Nizams’, Hyderabad is known for its monuments like Charminar and the Golconda Fort. Apart from these, there’s another renowned attraction of Hyderabad and that is ‘Salar Jung museum’ and ‘Birla ‘Science Museum’.

‘Salar Jung Museum’ is one of the notable national museums of India, houses over 46,000 art objects, 8,000 manuscripts and 60,000 printed books. It also has a famous musical bracket clock with more than 350 parts.

‘Birla Science Museum’ comprises a planetarium, museum, science centre, art gallery as well as a dinosaurium. It also houses India's first private Space Museum.

Under the supervision and guidance of the faculty of FDDI, the students at ‘Salar Jung Museum’ museums saw the distinct creative works, artifact, Design, Art, dimensions and surface textures in paintings, pottery, armour, crafts etc., whereas the visit at ‘Birla Science Museum’ helped them in familiarizing with scientific principles through various tools & apparatuses, acquiring scientific knowledge in an interactive way and the phases in advancement of technology.

It will help them further application of these techniques in their projects and assignments.
