FDDI has been recognized as ‘Assessing Agency’ and ‘Awarding Body’ by National Council of Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) on 15th March 2024.
On this occasion, Dr. Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi, IAS (Retd.), Chairperson, NCVET, Dr. Neena Pahuja, Executive Member (EM), NCVET, Dr. Vinita Aggarwal, IES (Retd.), EM, NCVET, Col. Santosh Kumar, Director, NCVET and Ms. Sheetal, Consultant - NCVET were present whereas Col. Pankaj Kumar Sinha, MD, FDDI, Mr. Sharad Shrivastava, Sr. Consultant - School of Footwear Design & Production (FDP), Mr. Sandeep Bhatia DGM- Student Affairs & Examination Department, and Mr. Ashish Kumar, Manager-Secretary Office were present.
The NCVET serves as an overarching national regulator with the aim of setting standards, developing comprehensive regulations, and improving the vocational education, training, and skilling ecosystem.

Now, as ‘Assessing Agency’ FDDI has the mandate to assess trainees after completion of training under National Skills Qualifications Committee (NSQC) which are aligned in the area of Retail, Fashion, Footwear and Leather Goods sector whereas as an ‘Awarding Body’ - FDDI has the mandate to award certificates and also create and develop qualifications in compliance to the NEP 2020 Credit Scheme.
