Following the criteria of social distancing in view of COVID-19, ‘Hindi Pakhwara’ was held at the campuses of Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) located at Noida, Fursatganj, Chennai, Kolkata, Chhindwara, Guna, Jodhpur, Ankleshwar, Banur, Patna and Hyderabad from 14-28, September, 2020.
In order to promote the knowledge and skills in use of official language – Hindi among the faculty, staff and the students in consonance with the policy of Government of India, three competitions were organized during the ‘Hindi Pakhwara’ at the respective campuses of FDDI.
Out of three competitions, two were held for the staff and one for the student community of FDDI that witnessed the oratory, logical skills and the literary acumen of the faculty, staff and students in Hindi.
Besides this, under the Department of Official Language Incentive Scheme, cash prizes and certificates were given to the Teaching as well to the Non-Teaching departments for the maximum percentage of work done by the department in Hindi during the last year.
In concurrence, a Hindi workshop was also organized for the employees at NOIDA campus on 24th September 2020. Mr. Atar Singh Goutam, working with National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Head Office, NOIDA as Dy. General Manager acquainted the staff with the ‘Official Language Policy’.
During the prize distribution ceremony at the NOIDA campus, the winners were awarded cash prizes as well as certificate during which the Chief Guest, Mrs. Rashmi Singh, Senior Hindi Officer, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), NOIDA addressed the employees through video conferencing.
During all the competitions, a large number of both teaching and non-teaching staff as well as students (through on-line) participated enthusiastically in the competitions.
On 28 September 2020, during the closing ceremony of ‘Hindi Pakhwada’ at FDDI, Chhindwara campus, Dr. Maya Sharma, HoD- Hindi Dept., DDC College, Chhindwara was the Chief Guest and other guests were Mr. C. S. Bhardwaj, Asst. Professor, Hindi Dept. and Mr. Ravindra Nafde, Distt. Coordinator- IGNOU.
Eminent personalities from the field of Hindi graced the prize distribution ceremony at the respective campus of FDDI.
Dr. S.K. Shukla, Ex. DG was the Chief Guest in a discussion program organized during ‘Hindi Pakhwada’ at FDDI, Banur. Dr. Santlal, Rajbhasha Salhkar, Devastra Pvt. Ltd and Prof. Ashok Kumar, Head - Dept. of Hindi addresses the audience through video conferencing.
During the prize distribution ceremony at the respective campus of FDDI, the Chief Guest in their address shared their views on the importance and status of Hindi language with the audience.
