Ms. Archana Prasad, Senior Faculty Grade II, School of Fashion Design, FDDI Hyderabad, has published a research paper titled “Comparative Study of Flat Pattern vs. Draping Techniques in Women’s Wear” in the International Journal for Multidisciplinary Research (IJFMR), Volume 8, Issue 4, July–August 2026.
The study compares flat pattern making and draping techniques, highlighting their respective strengths in precision, fit, production efficiency, creativity, silhouette development, and fabric manipulation. It concludes that integrating both approaches can enhance technical accuracy, creative exploration, innovation, and effective garment development in contemporary fashion design and education.
