As part of its commitment to strengthening industry-academia engagement, a team from FDDI visited the manufacturing facility and corporate office of Sheela Foam, Greater Noida, on 07 May 2026. The visit provided valuable exposure to advanced foam manufacturing technologies and facilitated discussions on potential areas of collaboration.
During the visit, the team toured the manufacturing facility and gained insights into the complete foam production process, including foam formation, curing, cutting, packaging, testing, and quality assurance procedures. The team also visited the testing laboratory to understand the diverse applications of foam in sectors such as footwear, furniture, automotive, mattresses, bags, and other lifestyle products.
The FDDI delegation interacted with senior management, including Mr. Vasant Singhal, President, Sheela Foam, and discussed opportunities for collaboration in areas such as joint certification and micro-credential programmes, industry-oriented curriculum development, skill enhancement initiatives, internship opportunities, and the formation of industry-academia committees.
The visit offered valuable insights into material innovation, manufacturing excellence, and emerging industry requirements, further reinforcing the importance of integrating practical industry exposure with academic learning.
