From Advanced Nanocoatings to AI Creativity: FDDI Banur Faculty at the Forefront of Innovation


Dr. Agya Preet, Faculty, School of Fashion Design (FD), FDDI Banur Campus, presented a research paper titled “Advanced Nanocoatings: Innovations in High Performance Surface Engineering” at the National Conference on Innovations in Protective Textiles held on 09 April 2026.

The conference was organized by Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA) with support from the National Technical Textiles Mission under the Ministry of Textiles. The research paper highlighted emerging advancements in nanocoating technologies and their applications in developing high-performance, durable, and protective textile surfaces.

Further strengthening her engagement with emerging industry trends, Dr. Agya Preet participated in a webinar titled “AI in Textile Design – Possibilities, Challenges & the Future of Creativity”, organized by the North India Section of The Textile Institute (NISTI) on 23 May 2026.

The webinar provided valuable insights into the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in textile and fashion design. Discussions covered key areas such as trend forecasting, pattern development, virtual sampling, creative workflows, craft innovation, and the evolving relationship between technology and design. The session offered participants a deeper understanding of how AI-driven tools are reshaping the future of creativity and product development within the textile and fashion sectors.
