FDDI, Hyderabad celebrated its 5th Convocation Ceremony on 21 February 2026 at the campus auditorium, marking an important milestone for the graduating Class of 2025. The ceremony recognized the achievements of students completing programmes in Footwear Design & Production (FDP), Fashion Design (FD), Leather Goods & Accessories Design (LGAD), and Retail and Fashion Merchandise (RFM).
The event was graced by Mr. G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister for Coal & Mines, Government of India, as the Chief Guest.
The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing knowledge, wisdom, and progress.
The Chief Guest, in his address, highlighted India’s growing global leadership in manufacturing, innovation, and skill development, and encouraged graduates to harness technology, sustainability, and design innovation to enhance the country’s global competitiveness.
The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Vivek Sharma, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI, who delivered the ‘Keynote Address’ and congratulated the graduating students. He highlighted FDDI’s commitment to nurturing globally competent professionals and encouraged graduates to embrace innovation, sustainability, and design excellence while contributing to the growth of India’s footwear, fashion, and retail industries.
Mr. Tej Lohit Reddy, IAS, Executive Director, FDDI Hyderabad, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the campus’s significant growth since its establishment in 2018, including the development of modern laboratories, a Centre of Excellence, and strong industry collaborations.
Subsequent to the administration of the Convocation Oath, a total of 71 students from the Batch of 2025 received their degrees and diplomas. Gold and silver medals were awarded to meritorious students in recognition of academic excellence.
The ceremony reaffirmed FDDI’s continued role in strengthening India’s footwear, leather, fashion, and retail ecosystem through skill development, innovation, research, and industry integration, while promoting sustainability and global standards in design and manufacturing.
