On 9 April 2026, Mr. Raj Bhatia, Managing Director of D2 International visited FDDI and held discussions with Mr. Vivek Sharma, IRS, Managing Director (MD), during which Dr. Renu Sharma (Academic Head) and Mr. Anoop Rana, Head of the School of Leather Goods & Accessories Design (LGAD) were present.
The interaction focused on strengthening industry–academia collaboration through initiatives related to academic development, skill enhancement, internships, placements, retail exposure and visual merchandising practices. Discussions also emphasized aligning education with evolving industry requirements and creating long-term opportunities for students.
The visit was followed by a tour of the LGAD laboratories and an interaction with students, during which Mr. Rajiv shared valuable industry insights and motivated students towards innovation and professional excellence.
The initiative reflects a shared commitment towards bridging the gap between academia and industry while preparing students with practical exposure and industry-relevant skills.
