The School of Footwear Design & Production organized an engaging workshop on “Handwoven – Application of Embroidery Techniques” at FDDI, Hyderabad Campus, on 24 April 2026.
The workshop aimed to enhance students’ design exploration skills by introducing them to innovative techniques and providing hands-on learning with expert guidance. It offered a valuable platform for students to gain practical insights and personalized feedback.
The session was conducted by Ms. Jahnavi Moturi, a Fevicryl Certified Art Professional, for the B.Des FDP 2023 and 2024 batches. She demonstrated a variety of embroidery techniques, focusing on surface texture development, intricate pattern creation, and effective manipulation of threads. Students were also guided on integrating weaving and embroidery elements into contemporary design applications.
Through detailed demonstrations and interactive engagement, the workshop enabled students to experiment with textures, understand the versatility of embroidery, and explore its application in innovative footwear design.
