On 3 April 2026, Ms. Jothipriya and Ms. Archana Prasad from the Fashion Design Department attended ATEXCON 2026, held at the Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre and the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC).
The conference featured insightful panel discussions on global textile challenges and emerging innovations. Key themes included shifting trade dynamics, the balance between large-scale and agile brands, and India’s growing potential in luxury textiles. Discussions also highlighted the importance of diversified material usage (cotton, MMF, and blends), along with the increasing role of automation, artificial intelligence, and smart manufacturing. Sustainability and circularity emerged as central focus areas, emphasizing their importance in shaping the future of the industry.
The accompanying exhibition, comprising 10–15 stalls, showcased advancements in textile manufacturing, sustainable practices, advanced machinery, and emerging fashion brands. Notable interactions included Creative Bee, Colourfix, Kitex, and Youngone. Creative Bee highlighted sustainable printing and dyeing processes, while Colourfix demonstrated innovative bacterial dyeing technology. Engagements with Kitex and Youngone also opened avenues for future academic collaborations, including industrial visits and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
