Dr. Pooja Singh, Faculty, School of Fashion Design (FD) and Mr. Ashok Joshi, Faculty, School of Footwear Design & Production (FDP), FDDI Banur Campus have successfully published a research paper titled “Indian Tribal Arts: Boon for Fashion and Textile Designers” in the International Journal of Engineering Research & Technology (Vol. 15, Issue 04, April 2026).
The paper thoughtfully explores the rich cultural legacy of Indian tribal art forms such as Warli, Gond, Pattachitra, and Bhil, highlighting their aesthetic richness, symbolic depth, and growing relevance in contemporary fashion and textile design. It underscores how these indigenous traditions not only preserve cultural identity but also foster sustainable livelihoods and inspire innovative design approaches.
This publication marks a meaningful academic contribution toward the revival and integration of traditional crafts within modern design frameworks, encouraging designers to draw inspiration from India’s diverse artistic heritage.
