FDDI Banur successfully organized a hands-on workshop on “Macramé & Braiding Knots” on 17th November 2025.The session was led by Ms. Neha, a skilled macramé designer known for her contemporary craft-based design practice.
The workshop introduced students to a range of essential macramé techniques, including the square knot, double half hitch knot, spiral knot, and other foundational knotting methods essential for structured product development. Students went beyond traditional applications like wall hangings and used these techniques to create concept-based products reflecting modern design sensibilities.
The session culminated in an impressive display of creative outputs such as macramé dresses, handbags, mobile pouches, headgear, accessories, and lifestyle products. These works showcased students’ strong ideation skills, craftsmanship, and ability to experiment with materials.
