Profile & Biography
Dr. Indu Gupta is a Senior Faculty II at the School of Fashion Design, bringing a distinguished academic pedigree and deep technical expertise to the institution. She holds both a B.Sc. in Home Science and a Master's in Textiles and Clothing from the prestigious Lady Irwin College, Delhi University. Having qualified for the UGC NET in 2008, she has recently completed her Ph.D. in Textiles and Clothing from Banasthali University (2025). Her core competencies lie in the fundamental and advanced aspects of fashion technology, specifically in Textile Science, Dyeing and Printing, Pattern Making, Garment Construction, and Surface Ornamentation.
An accomplished researcher, Dr. Gupta has published more than 10 research papers in reputable academic journals. Her commitment to innovation and sustainability was highlighted by receiving the Best Research Paper Award for her work titled "An Innovative and Sustainable Approach for Quantifying Cotton and Ramie Fiber Blend Ratio" at an international conference organized by JIMS and ICERT. Through her extensive knowledge of fiber science and apparel manufacturing, she continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of sustainable practices and technical excellence within the fashion department.
