Dr. Mrinal Kanti Datta is a Senior Faculty (Grade I) at the School of Fashion Design, FDDI Kolkata, with over 26 years of experience spanning industrial roles and academic leadership. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Tech in Textile Engineering from M.D. University, Rohtak, and has previously served at prestigious institutions such as Amity University and NITRA. His expertise uniquely blends Textile Engineering and Functional Clothing with cutting-edge digital technology, including CLO-3D and CAD. A prolific researcher, Dr. Datta has published 20 papers, notably achieving high citation counts for his work in the Journal of Industrial Textiles. He is a Life Member of both the Textile Association of India (TAI) and TANTU, consistently bridging the gap between technical textile science and modern fashion design.
