Profile & Biography
Dr. Pooja Singh is a Faculty member in the School of Fashion Design with over 10 years of professional experience spanning academia and industry, including roles at FDDI Chandigarh, SGT University, Krishna College, and VT Apparels. She holds a distinguished academic background with a Ph.D. (2018) and B.Sc. (2012) in Clothing & Textiles from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, as well as an M.Sc. from SHIATS, Allahabad. Her vast expertise encompasses Sustainable Fashion, Textile Innovation, Museum Textiles Conservation, functional apparel design, dyeing, printing, and traditional drapes.
A prolific researcher and innovator, she has published 10+ research papers, two book chapters, and eight articles, and notably holds a patent granted in November 2024 for an antimicrobial finish on casement fabric, in addition to five filed copyrights. Her career is marked by numerous accolades, including a three-year Ph.D. University Fellowship, the Young Scientist Award (2018), the International Educator's Eminence Award (2024), and the Chiranjeev Pratibha Samman Award (2025) for her contributions to sustainability and women in science. She is also a lifetime member of the Agro Environmental Development Society (AEDS).
