Profile & Biography

Dr. Sarita Devi is a Junior Faculty member at the School of Fashion Design, FDDI Rohtak, bringing approximately ten years of experience in teaching, research, and administration within various institutes and universities. She holds a comprehensive academic background from Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU), Hisar, where she earned her B.Sc. (Hons.) in Home Science (2012), an M.Sc. in Textile and Apparel Designing (2015), and a Ph.D. in Textile and Apparel Designing (2019). Her academic excellence is highlighted by receiving merit scholarships throughout her post-graduation and doctoral research, as well as qualifying both the UGC NET (2019) and ARS NET.

Dr. Devi's core areas of expertise include Computer-Aided Designing (CAD), with proficiency in CLO 3D and the Adobe Suite, alongside a focus on Sustainable Fashion and Surface Embellishment. She is a prolific scholar, having authored 30 research papers in national, international, and NAAS-rated journals, as well as three books and several book chapters. Beyond her publications, she has actively organized and participated in numerous global conferences. Her contributions to the field have been recognized with prestigious honors, including the Young Scientist Award (2022), and both the Best Research Scientist and Best Teacher (2019) awards at international conferences. A lifetime member of the Agriculture Technology Development Society (ATDS), Dr. Devi is also deeply committed to social impact, specifically empowering rural communities through targeted skill-building and training programs.
