Profile & Biography
Dr. Sushila serves as a Junior Faculty member at the School of Fashion Design, Noida Campus, bringing a specialized research background to the department. She holds a Ph.D. in Textile and Apparel Designing from Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, where she also completed her undergraduate and Master's degrees. A highly qualified academic, she is a recipient of the ICAR Junior Research Fellowship and is UGC NET qualified. Her areas of expertise bridge the gap between advanced science and design, focusing on nanotechnology and nanoparticles in textiles alongside Computer-Aided Designing (CAD), fabric science, and traditional textile processes such as dyeing, printing, and surface embellishment.
With over 7.5 years of experience in academics and research across reputed institutions, she has held significant administrative and academic positions. As a reviewer for reputed journals (ShodhKosh, Web of Science, Asian Journal of Food Research and Nutrition), she has significantly contributed to academic quality enhancement, curriculum development and research dissemination. She has published more than 35 papers in leading National and International journals, along with authoring six books and contributing to four book chapters. Additionally, she has presented over 40 research papers in National and International conferences in the country and abroad. She has attended more than 45 online seminars and 15 Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs).
Dr. Sushila has received Best M.Sc. Thesis Award, Best Ph.D. Thesis Award, Best Researcher Award, Young Women Scientist Award, Excellence Teaching Award, Young Textile Designer Award, Best Oral Presentation Award and Teachers' Excellence Award for Outstanding Contribution & Achievements in the field of Education. She is also a life member of professional societies such as Journal of Krishi Vigyan, ISAHRD, Chandigarh. In addition, she has been a member of Boards of Studies (BoS) at Sanskriti University, Mathura and has actively contributed to syllabus committees.
