Profile & Biography
Pradeep Srivastava is a senior design faculty and industry professional, bringing together more than two decades of global experience in leather product design, international business development, and merchandising, along with a strong academic background in design education. A postgraduate in Leather Garment Design & Technology from NIFT, New Delhi, and a Fine Arts graduate in Applied Arts, he has worked extensively with leading international brands and export houses before transitioning to academia.
At FDDI Kolkata, he is known for integrating industry expertise with design pedagogy, mentoring students to become future-ready professionals with both creative and practical skills. He has also served as a jury member at NIFT Delhi, contributing to academic evaluation and the shaping of design standards.
His research interests focus on sustainability, indigenous design traditions, and innovation in fashion education. He has authored the chapter “Naturally Coloured Cotton – Boom for Fashion Designers?” (2023) and presented “The Indigenous Voice in Indian Art and Design Education: Revealing Origins (1850–2000)” at the SNU National Conference (2025).
