Mr. Nanda is a highly accomplished Manufacturing Technology professional with over three decades of extensive experience in the footwear industry, spanning production engineering, product development, research & development, and quality management. Currently serving as Senior Faculty at FDDI Kolkata, he brings a unique blend of industrial expertise and academic excellence to the institution. His core expertise lies in manufacturing process optimization, CAD/CAM integration, Industry 4.0 implementation, and advanced footwear product development. He has consistently contributed to enhancing industrial efficiency, improving product quality, and developing innovative manufacturing solutions aligned with global standards. At FDDI, Mr. Nanda plays a pivotal role in leading advanced R&D initiatives, particularly in the development of military, safety, orthopaedic, and commercial footwear. He has been instrumental in guiding projects for the Indian Armed Forces, focusing on performance-driven and technologically advanced footwear solutions. His consultancy experience extends internationally, having worked with footwear industries in Bangladesh and Ethiopia to improve production workflows and technological capabilities. An expert in product development and process re- engineering, Mr. Nanda actively conducts corporate training programs and industrial workshops, empowering professionals and students with cutting-edge technical knowledge. His contributions also align with national initiatives such as “Make in India,” promoting indigenous manufacturing and innovation. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Footwear Technology from the Central Footwear Training Institute, Chennai, along with certifications in Design Thinking from IIM Kozhikode. His professional journey reflects strong leadership, techno- analytical skills, and a commitment to academic and industrial excellence.
