Profile & Biography
Mr. Sadheesh Kumar A is a seasoned educator and researcher serving as a Faculty member in the School of Fashion Design at FDDI Chennai, with over 18 years of professional experience. He holds a B.Sc., M.Sc., and M.Phil. in Costume Design and Apparel Design from Bharathiar University, where he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. A prominent figure in the design community, he has served as a judge for the South India Designer Contest for multiple years and as a jury member for the Khadi Design Council of India (KDCI), where he also holds a professional membership.
As a highly decorated academic, Mr. Sadheesh received the "Best Researcher Award" in 2022 and the "Professor Ratna Award" in 2018. He has published over 25 research papers, notably securing five "Best Paper" awards for his work on design and herbal textile finishing, and has registered one patent. His administrative and social impact is equally significant; he has published 25 Fashion Design books for diploma and degree courses and has led several government-funded skill development projects for the SC/ST Welfare Department, ILFS, and TNSDC. Most recently, in 2025, he received a commendation from the Executive Director for his contributions to the Institute of National Importance (INI) Day celebrations, underscoring his leadership in both institutional and community-focused design initiatives.
