Profile & Biography

A highly experienced Senior Faculty Grade II with more than 26 years of comprehensive expertise in footwear design, development, and manufacturing, bringing together a strong blend of academic excellence and industry insight. Demonstrates a consistent track record of mentoring students and delivering industry-oriented education, while fostering meaningful connections with leading global footwear brands. Possesses in- depth knowledge and proven capabilities in quality control, production planning, and product development, particularly within the leather and sports footwear segments. Alongwith post-graduate degree, also hold a Diploma in Management in Footwear Technology from the Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), Noida (1998– 2000), which laid the foundation for a career that bridges technical proficiency with managerial competence. Currently serving at the Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), India since 2012, contributing significantly to academic delivery, curriculum enrichment, and skill development aligned with industry standards. Prior to this, gained over 12 years of hands-on industry experience in footwear manufacturing, working with renowned international brands such as Adidas, Reebok, Next, Asda, Deichmann, and Salamander. This industry exposure has enabled a strong practical understanding of manufacturing processes, quality assurance systems, and innovative product development strategies. Core areas of expertise include quality control, production planning, product development, footwear manufacturing processes, and sustainable design practices, with a focused approach toward integrating sustainability into modern footwear production. Has also contributed to international capacity-building initiatives by training faculty and students at the Leather Industry Development Institute (LIDI), Ethiopia, reflecting a commitment to global knowledge exchange and skill development. Authored and published an abstract titled “The Implementation of Zero Waste Model to Acquire Zero Waste in Footwear Manufacturing” in the Book of Abstracts by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kangra, presented at the International Conference on Sustainable Design Practices (ICON 2023), held from 25–27 November 2023, showcasing a strong inclination toward sustainability and innovation in footwear manufacturing.
