Profile & Biography
Ms. Archana Prasad is a Senior Faculty (Grade II) at the School of Fashion Design with over 21 years of experience spanning academia, industry, and entrepreneurship. She holds an M.Sc. in Textile & Clothing and a B.Sc. in Fashion Designing from Avinashilingam University, supplemented by professional certifications from NIFT, Pune, and IBM. Her extensive leadership career includes serving as the HOD of Costume Design & Fashion at AJK College and Senior Faculty at FDDI Ankleshwar, alongside senior design and merchandising roles for international export houses. As the Founder of Archana's Aakriti, she has bridged the gap between traditional craft and commercial design, conducting thousands of workshops to nurture entrepreneurial skills in fashion jewellery and terracotta art.
Ms. Prasad is a prolific researcher with over seven published papers and a notable book chapter on Indian Terracotta Craft (2023). Her dedication to pedagogy earned her the Global Teacher Award (2020), and she frequently serves as a Jury Member for NIFT and various national pageants. She maintains active professional affiliations with the Chithrakala Academy and Pidilite Industries as a Fevicryl Expert Teacher. Through her diverse roles as an educator, guest speaker, and designer, she continues to influence the design landscape by integrating technical garment construction with creative heritage crafts.
