Profile & Biography
Ms. Dhivya S is currently heading the School of Fashion Design at FDDI, Chennai. She holds a B.Tech in Fashion Technology from Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore, M.Tech in Textile Technology from A.C. Tech Campus, Anna University, Chennai, and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Functional Clothing at NIFT, Delhi. She has been recognized with the Kannammal Krishnaswamy Memorial Prize for securing the University Gold Medal in her M.Tech and the Mahatma Gandhi Merit Scholarship during her B.Tech. With 9 years of teaching experience, she has worked in the Department of Textile Technology, Anna University, Chennai, where she handled classes for both Textile and Apparel Technology programmes.
Ms. Dhivya serves as a Member of the Board of Studies for the Fashion Technology programme at Anna University. Her academic contributions are complemented by significant research in the areas of Functional Clothing, Intimate Apparel, Medical Textiles and 3D Printing in Garments. She has published papers in reputed international journals, presented her work at national and international conferences, and also received a Best Paper Award. She also holds a patent for her innovation, the "Multifunctional Baby Carrier."
Her key areas of interest include Functional Clothing, Intimate Apparel, Apparel Production Management and Quality Control, Garment Construction and Textile Science. With her strong academic background and research expertise, she continues to contribute meaningfully to teaching, research and curriculum development in Fashion and Textile Education.
