Profile & Biography
Ms. Shefali Verma is a Senior Faculty in the School of Fashion Design, bringing 22 years of versatile experience across academia and the fashion industry. She holds an M.Sc. in Fashion Communication (2022), a Master's in Fashion Design Management, a B.Ed. from Kashmir University, and a three-year diploma in Costume Designing and Dress Making. Her extensive training includes specialized certifications from the National Institute of Design (NID) Ahmedabad, the Weaver Service Centre, and the Indian Institute of Carpet Technology. Her professional journey is marked by leadership roles such as HOD at FDDI Patna and Design Director in the industry, alongside significant contributions as a moderator, jury member, and paper setter for prestigious bodies like NIFT and the Ministry of Skill Development.
An entrepreneurial educator, Ms. Verma established her own brands, "Shri Sanyogini" and "Anubhuti," collaborating with major e-commerce platforms like Ajio and The Loom. Her core expertise includes Sustainable Fashion, Portfolio Development, Draping, and Observational Drawing. She remains active in the global research community, with abstracts recently accepted for the "Design for Inclusive Futures" conference at NIFT Mumbai (2026) and the FTSC 2025 Conference. Known for her "nothing is impossible" philosophy, she has successfully spearheaded numerous fashion shows and educational initiatives, bridging the gap between traditional craft and contemporary fashion communication.
