Profile & Biography
Ms. Soumya Srivastava is a junior faculty in school of Fashion Design Hyderabad, she is a passionate educatorand alumna of FDDI, with over seven years of teaching experience, including one year in the fashion industry. She is currently pursuing a Phd in Fashion Designing. Soumya holds expertise in a wide range of subjects such as Fashion Illustration, Observational Drawing, Drawing & Visualization, Aesthetic of design, Visual Merchandising, History of Fashion, and Apparel Marketing & Merchandising.
Through her career, she has achieved several notable accomplishments, includingrecognition in Designer Next India andwinning the best designer award in Egyptian theme creation. Driven by fascination for glamour andinnovation, Soumya has explored bold themes including Lady Gaga in her graduation fashion show (Avant Garde section) where her garments promoted sustainability by reusing waste bubble plastics and poly bags. Currently, her abstract is published in "Smart and Functional Textiles Materials" in the NIFT Kangra conference 2024.
